ANOTHER  FIRST FOR STUDENTS AT MARY IMMACULATE, LISDOONVARNA

      The 14^th annual FETAC Awards presentation on Friday , November 18^th marked a special occasion at Mary Immaculate Secondary School, Lisdoonvarna as the school’s first FETAC Level 6 graduates were conferred with their awards in Business and Supervision in Childcare.

      In response to a huge demand in the greater North Clare area the school has been offering adult education/FETAC courses  for the past 14 years .

Following the FETAC External Examiner's report for June 2011. These were the following findings describing areas of good practice in assessment.

       " Overall, a top "notch" college- so well run- very well presented.

       A lot of preparation work done - a lot of evidence of hard work from both staff and students-

       Very professional."

      " it's a good college to observe good practices in how well staff work as a team.

       I was very impressed".

JUNIOR GIRLS FOOTBALL COUNTY FINAL

    On Tuesday 22nd November, Mary Immaculate Girls Footbal team will play in the county final in Milton Malbay against Kilrush

For the students wishing to attend the game, a 5 euro participation will be necessary.

Dear Parents,

     Over the past three years the country has gone through an unprecedented period of economic and financial turmoil. Individuals, families, communities and organisations have found themselves at the receiving end of very severe cuts in resources and finances. Schools, as you well know, have undergone serious reductions in supports and funding.

     The preparations for Budget 2012 are underway and as parents with children in this Voluntary Secondary school we are asking you to make your voice heard in demanding of Government that no further damage is inflicted on our school. The students in our school today have only this one chance to receive the best possible education to equip them for the future. The staff, in partnership with you, the parents, have made great efforts to maintain the excellent standards of teaching and learning in our school despite the severe cut-backs in the last three budgets.
